Visiting the Local Animal Shelter
I am off (in spite of Dan's vigerous protests) to visit the Alexandria Animal Shelter in order to check out Kady the Jack Russell/Pug and Peaches, the Senegal Parrot. They are both approximately one year old and I think either one (or both) would make a good addition to our little "family."

Yes yes yes, take both. They are sooooo cute! :-)
No little puppy - no big birdie. Truth is, we've already got two brain-damaged cats and a really old crotchety bird and a very small condo. Dan's right, I'll hate taking a dog for daily walks, especially now that winter's here. I really hope someone adopts them, though. I really do. The shelter is a heartbreaking place - all those beautiful animals without anyone to love them. Arghhhhh.
I know this is an old post. But, that is a red bellied parrot, not a senegal parrot. They are both in poicephalus family though. :)
